Tigers lineup might be significantly improved by Orioles prospects.
DETROIT: The majority of people believe that the Detroit Tigers would be giving up on the season if they traded Tarik Skubal this week, but that isn’t always the case.
Right now, 27-year-old Skubal is the best pitcher in the world. With a 2.34 ERA, a 0.92 WHIP, and 146 strikeouts, he is ranked second in MLB.
In two of those categories, no one else in the league even comes in the top three.
The idea that the Tigers could part with such a great player and yet be able to enhance their club sounds absurd. However, I genuinely believe it is feasible.
The Tigers may receive an offer from the Baltimore Orioles of three or four MLB-ready prospects if they are truly desperate.
Additionally, they are the team that has the best offensive prospects available.
This season, I don’t think the Tigers will trade Skubal. Giving up a top-tier left-handed starter when you still have two more years to retain team control is difficult.
Additionally, I don’t think the Orioles would actually execute on any of the massive deals that MLB insiders are speculating about.
However, a few informed individuals appear to believe Baltimore is driven to take a serious shot at Skubal.
