The Chicago Blackhawks sign TJ Brodie to a two-year contract to boost depth.
Monday night’s two-year contract deal between the Chicago Blackhawks and veteran defenseman TJ Brodie concluded a busy day for the rebuilding team.
The team revealed the agreement, which is for $7.5 million over two years, and it brings forwards Tyler Bertuzzi, Teuvo Teravainen, and Pat Maroon, goaltender Laurent Brossoit, and defenseman Alec Martinez to the list of free agent signings.
Brodie recently concluded a massive four-year contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs worth $5 million a year. He expected to receive a wage reduction this summer, and that turned out to be the case at 33 with his numbers starting to drop.
