Sheffield Wednesday transfer scene hotting up amid flurry of reports
Months ago, Sheffield Wednesday’s manager Danny Röhl emphasized the need to complete most of the club’s transfer activities early.
Last season, Röhl and his team achieved an impressive turnaround, recovering from their worst-ever start under former manager Xisco to secure 51 points and avoid relegation. Now, with a new three-year contract, Röhl has stressed the importance of strengthening the squad for a push towards the top of the table next season. While he acknowledged the challenges of the market, he mentioned that several promising players are on their shortlist.
Three signings have been confirmed: Ben Hamer and Max Lowe will join as free agents when their current contracts expire at the end of the month, and Yan Valery has been acquired from French club Angers for an undisclosed fee.
