Patrick Mahomes won the Best NFL Player award at the 2024 ESPYS.
Patriots quarterback Patrick Mahomes has won two major honors in a row this year. Mahomes, 28, won the greatest prize of the 2024 ESPY Awards on Thursday, July 11, marking his second consecutive year in the top spot.
Despite not having his finest season statistically in 2023–2024, Mahomes guided the Chiefs to their third Super Bowl triumph in as many years. With a 10-6 record at the end of the season, Mahomes completed 67% of his throws for 4,183 yards of passing.
Mahomes and the Chiefs are still nominated for additional ESPY Awards. In addition to the Chiefs’ nomination for Best Team, Mahomes is a nominee in the men’s sports category for Best Athlete. Mahomes will enter the ranks of sporting legends like Tiger Woods and Lebron James, all of whom were born before the year 2000, if he is named the Best Athlete.
Serena Williams, the tennis icon, will host the entire award presentation, which airs on Thursday, July 11 at 7 p.m. CST on ABC.
