With Dominic Iorfa being the most recent to ink a new contract, Sheffield Wednesday’s good news just keeps getting better.
After expressing optimism over the weekend regarding new agreements for players like Iorfa, Josh Windass, and Di’Shon Bernard, Owls general manager Danny Röhl has now formally closed deals on two of the three in the span of two days.
After Windass’s new contract was revealed on Tuesday, they have now done the same with the “fastest man in Yorkshire,” who has decided to stay at Hillsborough for a minimum of one more season.
“Dominic Iorfa has signed a new contract with the Owls ahead of the 2024–25 campaign,” the club said in a statement. The towering defender, who arrived from Premier League Wolves in January 2019, has extended his S6 spell.
Since then, Iorfa has made 142 appearances for the blue and white team, contributing five goals from the defense. When the quintet made its debut at Rotherham in the final moments of a derby, it was especially memorable. He then accepted our Player of the Year trophy for the 2019–20 campaign.
