SAD News: Jannik Sinner has made a heartbreaking announcement that has raised doubts about his French Open campaign.

Due to a hip ailment, Jannik Sinner announced that he will not be participating in the Italian Open.

World No. 2 Sinner announced on social media on Saturday afternoon that he had discussed his injury with experts, leading to his withdrawal from this week’s Madrid Open quarterfinal.

Sinner, the defending Australian Open winner and current ATP Race to Turin leader, withdrew from the competition, which is a major setback.

Sinner would have been the star of the show as he competed on home territory, and there was a lot of expectation that he may snap the 48-year wait for a men’s singles champion at the tournament.

However, those dreams have now come to an end, as has the possibility that he will rank #1 in the world at his home tournament.

“It is not easy to write this message, but I have to announce that unfortunately I will not be able to play in Rome after speaking with the doctors and specialists about my hip problems again,” he wrote.
