Latest Chicago Sky News: Angel Reese does something no WNBA rookie ever has before with latest double-double.

Angel Reese has achieved something that no other rookie in the WNBA has done.

Angel Reese, who recorded her seventh straight double-double Thursday in the Chicago Sky’s victory over the Dallas Wings, is the only WNBA rookie to have ever recorded more consecutive double-doubles.

With her 16 points and 18 rebounds, Reese reportedly broke records set by Tina Charles and Cindy Brown. The former LSU standout also finished with seven of thirteen field goals, three assists, and two steals to help the Sky end a four-game losing streak with an 83-72 victory. Her career-high 18 rebounds are a feat.

The Sky had lost six of its previous seven games coming into Thursday.

“I’m just glad we won—at home, at last,” Reese said during the ESPN broadcast. “Obviously, I’m really excited about it, but I try to be kind to myself and remind myself that I’m doing a great job. I’m thrilled to be in this league and eager to win more, but I still have a lot of growing to do.”

Reese is averaging 12.4 points and 10.8 rebounds per game in 13 games. Despite her season shooting percentage of just 38% from the field, she has made 48% of her field goal attempts in her previous five games. The only player averaging more rebounds per game (11.3) than Reese is A’ja Wilson, the great forward for the Las Vegas Aces.

In her first season at LSU, Reese recorded 34 double-doubles, setting an NCAA record.

Next, on Sunday at 2 p.m. on ESPN, the Sky will play Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever. This season, the Fever has defeated the Sky in both of their meetings.
