“Heartbreak for Djokovic Fans: Novak Announces Major Life Change After Challenging Season”

Tennis fans are disappointed by Novak Djokovic’s development following his Wimbledon loss.

Ahead of the US Open, the world no. 2 has made a decision about his itinerary.

A sad sequel to his Wimbledon final defeat, a “tired” Novak Djokovic has withdrawn from the forthcoming ATP 1000 event in Toronto. In an exciting five-set match at the All England Club, Djokovic lost to Carlos Alcaraz and was unable to win his 24th Grand Slam championship.

At the conclusion of his grass-court season, the Serbian player was completely exhausted, and it was revealed on Monday that he will not be competing in the National Bank Open in Toronto in early August. Instead, the 36-year-old is choosing to take it easy on his body and start his hard-court season later, most likely in Cincinnati.

Due to exhaustion, Djokovic withdrew from the first Masters 1000 event of the North American swing and the sole Canadian stop on the ATP Tour, according to Tennis Canada. The four-time National Bank Open champion, Djokovic, stated, “I have always enjoyed my time in Canada, but after speaking with my team, we believe this is the right decision.”

As Djokovic’s replacement, American rising talent Christopher Eubanks will automatically qualify for the main tournament. After defeating Cameron Norrie, the home favorite, and Stefanos Tsitsipas, the No. 5 seed, Eubanks had an incredible run to the Wimbledon quarterfinals.

Tournament director Karl Hale stated, “Of course, we’re disappointed that Novak won’t be playing at the National Bank Open this year.” He’s a fantastic player, and we know our supporters were excited to see him. Although we will miss him, a great roster of players, including 41 of the top 42 players in the world, have been confirmed for this year’s tournament.”

Tennis enthusiasts were likewise let down to learn that Djokovic would not be competing in Toronto. Since 2018, he has not performed at the event.
