Glenn Schumann saw Luke Metz earlier this spring thanks to access to the Kirby Copter. He went to a spring practice at Mill Creek, Georgia. Schumann informed Metz the following day that he would inform Kirby Smart of his intention to make Metz an offer.
The following day, he got the call.
“He extended an offer to me. “He gave the ball back to me,” he remarked. “He respected my commitment and really just wanted to know whether I’d take an official visit or not.”
As of this week, the response is indeed affirmative. This coming weekend, June 14–16, is the official visitation for the Alabama linebacker committed to Georgia.
The Alabama Crimson Tide coaches, including Kane Wommack, the coach of the linebackers, had a humorous response to the offer and the planned visit.
“They all started messaging me as soon as I received the Georgia offer. They began to feel a little anxious. It’s good, Metz remarked. Coach Wommack threatened to deploy the National Guard to my house to make sure I wasn’t taken advantage of. “I adore them and all that they stand for. I’m devoted, and I love coaches Wommack and Bama. I adore those two men. Over there, they are like family.”
But Metz will still be traveling to Athens. It will be his first recruiting visit to Georgia overall, which is surprising.
