Ex-Liverpool coach fired by second club in 5 months, after only 14 weeks…

Michael Beale, a former Liverpool academy coach, has seen his turbulent managerial career take another turn after being terminated.Another spin after being let go byfollowing nine weeks in command.

Beale was a highly regarded coach throughout his nine years on Merseyside, which were broken by a brief stay with Brazilian club Sao Paulo, and his senior career started off successfully.

After working as Steven Gerrard’s assistant at Rangers and Aston Villa, the 43-year-old took over as manager of QPR in 2022. Less than two years later, Beale has departed his third club, having been fired twice in five months this season.

Sunderland are the next to cut connections, removing Beale of his responsibilities in an effort to resolve an increasingly strained relationship between manager and supporters. Beale’s departure was confirmed on Monday, two days after a 2-1 loss to Birmingham that provoked outrage after reports he disregarded defender Trai Hume’s handshake as he fled the ground.

While the manager said it was a mistake, the form charts were clear: Sunderland had won only four of his 12 games in charge.

He departs Sunderland 10th in the Championship, having taken over when the club was seventh and only three points out of the playoffs. After being fired by Rangers in October, this latest development casts doubt on Beale’s next move, while the manner of his departure from QPR has also sparked criticism.

Despite holding three high-profile posts in less than two years, Beale has only led 77 games as a senior manager, the longest of which being 43 at Rangers. It’s a perplexing situation for Beale, who, despite his burgeoning reputation as a coach at Liverpool and then backing Gerrard, has unable to transition that to a prominent role.
