. The Mavericks will return home with a 3-2 series lead and an opportunity to finish the series at the American Airlines Centre. The victor of Game 5 in a 2-2 series advances 80% of the time, and the Mavericks will try to do the same on Saturday at 8 p.m. ET.
With the margin down to single digits, Washington hit the backboard on this three-pointer, but he retrieved his own rebound and blasted it home to keep the lead above 10.
When everything comes together for Luka, he makes it appear effortless. In Game 5, there was no one to slow him down. Not Lu Dort, not Holmgren, or Williams. He had 31 points, 10 rebounds, and 11 assists on a night when he didn’t argue with the officials much.
PJ Washington had carried the Mavs through the previous three games, but in Game 5, he took a vacation. He had a good night, scoring 10 points and grabbing 10 rebounds while making some big, crucial shots when the game was close.

Dereck Jones stepped up and had a tremendous night, going 6/6 in the first half and scoring 19 points. He finished the game 7/9 from the field, and none were simpler than Luka’s alley oop.

The Dallas Mavericks are returning home with a 3-2 lead in the Western Conference Semifinals after defeating the Oklahoma City Thunder in a series-swinging victory on Wednesday night. Kyrie got things started early, but Luka would have the keys to the automobile for the remainder of the night.
