Carson Beck just spilt out his mind to his fans now by announcing his departure.

A former San Francisco 49ers wide receiver trained the brother of their superstar running back this offseason. The commonality that the former San Francisco wideout had with his trainee: they both formerly played quarterback.

Speaking of NIL, current San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Jauan Jennings, a former Tennessee Vols standout, is a player that could’ve cashed in during his time as a college student had NIL deals been legal at the time.

 

Jennings was (and still is) an immensely popular player during his time at Tennessee. His relentless on-field play, a trait he’s carried over to the NFL, led to him becoming a fan favorite on Rocky Top.

But even if Jennings had earned significant cash in college, he likely wouldn’t have gone wild making lavish purchases.

 

According to The Tennessean, Jennings, who has been in the NFL since 2020, still drives the same 2014 Nissan Maxima that his step-mom bought him while he was in college at Tennessee.

Michigan State and its coach Jonathan Smith have been doing their due diligence on many players in the transfer portal as they look to retool their roster and start a new era of Spartans football in East Lansing. Smith has had mixed results, but it is still early.

 

As he continues through his first offseason at the helm, Smith has used the recruiting trail to build the defense and the transfer portal to build the offense. Michigan State has hosted and offered scholarships to multiple talented players in the transfer portal.

Not every college basketball standout has the required skillset to thrive at the next level, but many of the biggest names from the 2023-24 season project to come off the board at the NBA Draft and embark on professional careers. While this year’s draft is widely considered to be among the weakest in recent history, there is still plenty of talent to go around.
