The Georgia Bulldogs completed their annual inter-squad scrimmage this Saturday as the red team tied with the black team by a score of 20-20. As expected from a spring scrimmage, numerous young Bulldogs got an opportunity to see the field and showcase their skills. Amongst the group of young Bulldogs who saw the field was Georgia’s 2024 recruiting class.
This Saturday saw the conclusion of the Georgia Bulldogs’ yearly intersquad scrimmage, with the red and black teams drawing a score of 20–20. As might be expected from a spring scrimmage, a large number of young Bulldogs were given the chance to view the pitch and demonstrate their abilities. Among the young Bulldogs who witnessed the pitch was the Georgia recruiting class of 2024.
With so many freshman Bulldogs appearing in Saturday’s scrimmage, here is a report as to how the members of the 2024 recruiting class performed for the Dawgs on Saturday.
Numerous freshmen on the defensive side of the ball made a massive impact and showed great potential for the Bulldogs moving forward. Defensive backs Ellis Robinson and KJ Bolden each recorded at least three tackles and showed major promise in the pass coverage game. Linebackers Chris Cole and Justin Williams also turned in big showings with Williams recording three solo tackles and Cole earning a pass breakup that almost resulted in a pick-six.
In addition to strong play from young linebackers and defensive backs, Georgia defensive linemen Joseph Jonah-Ajonye and Jordan Thomas each received a healthy number of reps with Jonah-Ajonye even recording a sack.
The Bulldogs’ offensive freshman turned in a handful of huge moments of their own. Of these moments the most notable was arguably wide receiver Sacovie White hauling in a 26-yard touchdown catch. Wide receiver Nitro Tuggle also hauled in a 30-yard pass of his own.
Freshman running back Chauncey Bowens carried the balls five times for the black team and averaged an impressive 4.4 yards per carry. Tight end Jaden Reddell also turned in an impressive five catches for 23 yards. Numerous freshman offensive linemen also made appearances in the game, with names such as Daniel Calhoun earning reps in the first quarter.
