But the number he came to town with, No. 84, has a historic name attached to it, and that historic name is making his opinion on the matter known.

Patterson signed a two year deal in Pittsburgh, leaving his next NFL decision to come at 35-years-old. Those two years could be enough time to make a lasting impact on the Steelers franchise, especially if he helps them break their playoff drought.

On Tuesday night, Cordarrelle Patterson, a newly acquired wide receiver/running back and kickoff return specialist for the Pittsburgh Steelers, questioned fans on X if he should wear No. 84 with the Black and Gold. And after inquiring about three other numbers, it turns out that he will wear No. 84 after all. Throughout his NFL career and while attending Tennessee as a college, Patterson has worn the number 84. He mentioned the numbers 10, 13, and 18 as other options.

Mitch Trubisky was the last Steeler to wear No. 10 and the number is currently occupied by wide receiver Marquez Callaway. Callaway just signed and is a journeymen in the league, so I’m sure Patterson could work something out if he really wants that number.

No. 18 and No. 13 are available after the departures of wide receivers Diontae Johnson and Miles Boykin, respectively
