After losing his form and experiencing injury issues earlier in the year, Carlos Alcaraz revealed he is now only three victories away from accomplishing the Sunshine Double.
The two-time Grand Slam champion recently won his ninth straight match on the American hard-court circuit, which serves as a timely reminder to his opponents that he has returned to his peak form. He had just lifted the Indian Wells Open championship.
In under ninety minutes, the world No. 2 player defeated Lorenzo Musetti 6-3, 6-3 in the Miami Open’s fourth round, putting on another captivating display.
The Spaniard had a rough patch before making his Sunshine Double debut after an unexpected quarterfinal exit at the Australian Open.
To make matters worse, he had to withdraw from the Rio Open after spraining his ankle in the first few minutes of play.
However, the 20-year-old stated he is “feeling great” and that the injury is no longer on his mind, so it is all behind him.
Alcaraz remarked, “I don’t know if this is the best game I’m playing, but it’s definitely the best feeling.”
“I’m in a wonderful mood when I play. I can move around really well and am no longer bothered by my ankle problem. This is, I believe, the nicest feeling I’ve had since the summer.

Alcaraz defeated Musetti with a commanding performance, breaking the net once in the first set and once more in the ninth game. In game six, he took the lead, but the Italian quickly responded, and in game eight, Alcaraz managed to take the lead once more.
His strategies against the Italian worked, as he now leads their head-to-head match 3-1.
