SAD news for Georgia bulldogs a key player Ladd McConkey was just confirmed d…..

Hits keep coming for Georgia football via the transfer portal. Former five-star cornerback A.J. Harris entered his name into the portal on Friday night in another shocking departure for the Bulldogs.

The news comes one day after preseason All-American linebacker Jamon Dumas-Johnson entered the portal.

Harris played in seven games this season, recording eight tackles. Our first glimpse of the true freshman was during the G-Day spring scrimmage in which he had six tackles and a pass breakup.

Harris (6 feet, 1 inch, 190 pounds) didn’t see much playing time behind Kamari Lassiter, Daylen Everette, Julian Humphrey and Nyland Green.

Harris was the No. 2 cornerback nationally and the No. 1 player in the state of Alabama coming out of Central High School in Phenix City, per 247Sports.

Harris was expected to play a major role at the position in 2024 with Lassiter likely NFL draft bound and Green in the portal.

Vandagriff was a highly touted recruit in the class of 2021. He was ranked fourth among quarterbacks in a class that included former Southern California quarterback Caleb Williams and Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers. Vandagriff entered 2023 competing for the starting job, but he was unable to beat out Carson Beck. He threw 21 passes over the course of his time with the Bulldogs, completing 12 for 165 yards and two touchdowns.

He enters a Kentucky football team that is no stranger to transfer quarterbacks, as their prior two starting quarterbacks in Will Levis and Devin Leary have both come out of the portal. Vandagriff will bring his dual threat skill set to the Kentucky offense and new coordinator Bush Hamdan. He will face his former team on Sept. 14 at Kroger Field

.

Sixteen Bulldogs have entered the portal to date. Three are former five-star recruits: Harris, outside linebacker Marvin Jones Jr. and quarterback Brock Vandagriff (Kentucky).

The Bulldogs will have to play some inexperienced players when they take on Florida State in the Orange Bowl on Dec. 30 in Miami. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. ET and the game will air on ESPN.
