After a six-game road trip to start the season, the Celtics will return home with a 4-2 record. On Monday at Charlotte, the C’s defeated the Hornets 118-104, winning their second straight game after pulling away in the second half. The Celtics now have a 59-16 record. The Hornets’ season record fell to 18-57.

The fact that Brown wants to get a better diagnosis or further treatment on his hand should raise some flags. The discomfort in his hand has obviously gotten to the point where he feels that’s necessary.
Perhaps getting some time off as the regular season winds down will help Brown’s hand heal. There doesn’t seem to be much concern over the injury from the Celtics perspective.
“I’m not sure if he had it looked at, but seemed to be doing well,” Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla told reporters prior to facing the Hornets, per NBC Sports Boston. “I talked to him today, he was doing OK.”
Brown got up some shots prior to the Celtics taking on the Hornets. He didn’t have any wrap on his hand, which is a good sign.
Brown hasn’t demonstrated on the court that the hand injury bothers him, even if it does. Since the All-Star Game, he has been outstanding, averaging 27.1 points, up from 22 points before the break, along with 3.3 assists, 5.7 rebounds, and a block.
Though Brown shouldn’t be too concerned about it, it’s still something to keep an eye on as the Celtics step up their quest for an NBA championship later this month.
Brown sprained his left hand during the Celtics’ victory over the New Orleans Pelicans on Saturday. Since the team already holds the top spot in the Eastern Conference, Brown doesn’t need to play if he isn’t feeling well.
