The Dallas Cowboys will attempt to re-sign quarterback Dak Prescott following this season, according to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, despite the uncertainty surrounding Prescott’s future with the team.
“On NFL Live, at the three-minute mark, Fowler stated, ‘I spoke to somebody directly with the team who said that the concept that the Cowboys don’t want to re-sign Dak Prescott after this year is inaccurate. “They are going to try.”
Fowler pointed out that it won’t be simple to extend Prescott’s deal. In 2024, the quarterback’s basic pay will be $29 million; but, in order for the Cowboys to retain him, that amount will probably need to go up.

Prescott has established his value, according to Fowler, who called him the Cowboys’ “long-term answer.” After this season, Dallas would prefer to keep Prescott at quarterback even if it has another option in Trey Lance.

This season, Dallas will be trying to extend more than just Prescott. In 2024, wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, who finished the previous season with 1,749 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns, will enter the final year of his contract.
Dallas will probably try to sign linebacker Micah Parsons to a long-term agreement before 2025, since he has a fifth-year option that will keep him with the team through that season. In 2023, Parsons recorded 64 tackles and 14 sacks.
