Derrick White’s family life is just as inspiring and intriguing as his basketball career. He is happily married to Hannah Schneider, a healthcare professional. Their love story began during their college days at University of Colorado Colorado Springs.
White was left without any Division I scholarship offers after high school and thus decided to attend a Division 2 institution as a gamble.
Derrick White’s NBA career has captured the interest of many. But his personal life – specifically his relationship with Hannah Schneider – is equally captivating. Hannah works at Northwest Animal Hospital as a receptionist while simultaneously working towards becoming a commercial real estate agent.
White was raised in Parker, Colorado where he tried his hand at baseball and football before turning exclusively to basketball due to his diminutive stature. Baseball and football remained viable pursuits as White found himself more adept at doing just one or the other than they once were; therefore basketball became his passion.
White’s size and skill set became more appealing to college coaches as he aged. Unfortunately, he couldn’t pass their initial eye test.
By 2022, his options had narrowed dramatically until being traded from the San Antonio Spurs to the Boston Celtics – one of the oldest franchises in basketball – where he serves as sixth man. Here, he hopes he can help create his own legacy within this legendary team.
White was first introduced to his future wife during their college days at University of Colorado Colorado Springs where White played basketball. Following graduation, he was selected for draft by San Antonio Spurs before later signing with Boston Celtics.
White is widely known for his competitive spirit on the court, yet off it he prioritizes family. In 2021, he tied the knot with Hannah Schneider.
The ceremony took place before their family and friends, including some of his San Antonio teammates – Jakob Poeltl, Keldon Johnson, and Drew Eubanks were present – as well as in front of Hendrix (also known as Henny or “Bubs”). Often photos are posted to social media from this couple featuring Hendrix.
