Boston Celtics All-Star Jaylen Brown’s Instagram comment to London-based model/actress Suzie Micael saw a reply weeks after her post. The incoming eight-year player dropped “Fav” in the comments section of Micael’s post as she celebrated her birthday. She responded with an emoji of a smiling face with hearts.
Then, when Jaylen Brown posted a photo of him in the green uniform of the Celtics during media day earlier this month, it was the model’s turn to comment with an analyzing emoji.
Fans of the Boston Celtics, I have a story for you. Ten-word responses are the subject of a fantastic episode of The West Wing. About to take the ring for the first debate of his reelection campaign, President Jed Bartlet’s staff has been agonising over how to respond to the issues posed by the country in just ten words.
Josh Lyman, the president’s chief attack dog, is anxious about the occasion because he believes Uncle Fluffy, Bartlet’s timid and indecisive persona, will show up rather than the astute and brutal political guru that the situation demands.
The moderator’s opening fastball is crushed by Republican contender Rob Ritchie, who delivers the ten-word response that Bartlet’s team has been waiting for. Jed, however, discovers another gear and requests the next ten.
Boston finished with the second best regular-season record (57–25) in the NBA, just one win behind the Bucks (58–24). Brown, an integral contributor on both ends, dropping 26.6 points and 6.9 rebounds per contest. He also shined defensively as one of the league’s premier on-ball wing defenders.
Brown was candidly open with The Boston Globe’s Gary Washburn. “I think I’m more than deserving. This is the second-best team in the league. I’ve played nothing but winning basketball, helped lead my team and I’m in the [top] 10 in scoring and I’m efficient. I guess you look at the criteria and I think I more than meet it. We’ve dominated for the most part of the season. I’ve been available. What more do people want? But it’s out of my control.”
