Last year, the Green Bay Packers extended the contract of quarterback Jordan Love for one year. Love’s impressive performance helped the team win the playoffs.
Love will be able to leave the Green Bay Packers in 2025 as an unrestricted free agent, but it is unlikely that he will because general manager Brian Gutekunst has stated that the team has already started making plans for Love’s contract extension
He shared, as per Pro Football Talk via Ryan Wood of Packers News, “There’s been some, obviously, preliminary discussions. But we want to do it the right way. And certainly the sooner the better, but at the same time, we want to make sure we do it the right way. So, it’s started. But it’s not something that’s going to go quickly, I don’t think.”
He revealed, according to Ryan Wood of Packers News via Pro Football Talk: “There have, clearly, been some preliminary discussions. However, we wish to approach it correctly. Of course, the sooner the better, but we also want to make sure we do it well. That’s the beginning of it. However, I don’t believe it will go away quickly.”
