DEAL : with juju Smith in the team the Pittsburgh Steelers have just signed a huge contract with……

The Steelers have a significant hole in their wide receiver lineup going into the 2024 campaign after dealing Diontae Johnson to the Panthers. One of the best wide receivers still available in free agency is the former Bengals standout Tyler Boyd, who Pittsburgh is keen to sign.

The Steelers’ offence under new coordinator Arthur Smith would benefit from having the large slot receiver, but Boyd and the organisation are reportedly at odds over contract negotiations.

Boyd “wants to get paid more than [the Steelers] are offering him,” according to Mark Kaboly of The Athletic, who covers the Steelers. He was heard on 93.7 The Fan.

Boyd is currently valued at $26 million for a three-year contract, according to Spotrac. In 2023, he had two touchdowns, 667 yards, and 67 catches while playing for Cincinnati.

Kaboly had earlier stated that the addition of Boyd “doesn’t appear anywhere close to a sure thing like it appeared to be a week ago at this time,” indicating that some members of the Steelers organisation are not entirely on board with the move. The native of Pittsburgh had previously expressed interest

There’s still a possibility that Boyd lands with the Steelers. And if not, other free-agent pass-catchers remain available including Hunter Renfrow, Odell Beckham Jr., Josh Reynolds, and Michael Thomas. The Steelers have also reportedly shown interest in 49ers receiver Brandon Aiyuk, who could be available via trade.

What a spot in the draft this year this is. Big ones, tiny ones, and quick ones are all present. This draft has everything you’re looking for. Additionally, there will be strong corners that are available far into the draft that can benefit your squad. Although it may not contain the elite quality of the last two rounds, there is still a strong corner class.

Tough as nails, Rakestraw isn’t afraid to stick his nose in the pile as a tackler. Had one interception and 12 pass defenses in 2022, but a shoulder injury limited his production somewhat in 2023. Also had an ACL injury in 2021, so there are some medical concerns. Rakestraw ran a 4.51-second 40 at the Combine, which was just OK, but his 1.54-second 10-yard split shows his explosiveness out of the gate.
