DEAL IN FULL: A former 49ERS player got signed in to trade with the Pittsburgh Steelers for $3.100millions….

Following a hectic free-agency season, the NFL Draft is quickly approaching. Detroit, Michigan will host the NFL Draft in 2024 from April 25–27.

Over the course of the three days of the competition, the Steelers will have seven total picks; but, unless they make a trade, they are not guaranteed a pick in every round. In his first two offseasons at the role, Steelers general manager Omar Khan has been busy wheeling and dealing, which has resulted in the team adding and subtracting picks in the future rounds.

The Steelers made their first transaction of the 2024 offseason when they traded up to the Panthers for cornerback Donte Jackson and a sixth-round pick (No. 178), obtaining wide receiver Diontae Johnson in exchange.

Two fourth-round selections (Nos. 119 and 120) were held by Pittsburgh going into the 2024 offseason; however, they traded the latter when they sent quarterback Kenny Pickett to the Eagles in exchange for a third-round selection (No. 98) and two 2025 seventh-round selections. The Steelers moved up 22 spots in the 2024 draft in exchange for the move.

In the 2023 deal for Kevin Dotson, which saw the Steelers send Dotson, a 2024 fifth-round pick (No. 155), and a 2025 sixth-rounder to the Rams in exchange for the Rams’ 2024 fourth-rounder (No. 120) and a 2025 fifth-rounder, Pittsburgh had acquired the extra fourth-round pick from the Rams.

The Steelers now have one pick in each of the first, second, and fourth rounds in the 2024 NFL Draft, two picks apiece in the third and sixth rounds, and no picks in the fifth and seventh rounds. Four Pittsburgh picks are expected in the first 10

In 2025, Pittsburgh will select at their own spots in all rounds barring the sixth, when they will surrender that pick to Los Angeles in exchange for Dotson. They did, however, acquire an additional 2025 fifth-round pick in return.

The Steelers are not included on this list in case they receive any compensation choices in 2025, which is exceedingly doubtful.

As previously mentioned, the Steelers received a sixth-round pick from Houston when Kendrick Green was dealt to the Texans prior to the 2023 season, and they will also have two more seventh-round picks in 2025 as a result of the Kenny Pickett trade with the Eagles.

*The Justin Fields trade will probably result in the Steelers losing their sixth-round pick (from Houston) to the Chicago Bears in 2025. The Steelers will forfeit their 2025 fourth-round pick in favour of Fields if he plays 51% or more of the offensive snaps in 2024.
