A new cornerback is needed by the Detroit Lions. This team could use another body in the secondary after releasing Cameron Sutton due to a suspected domestic assault case. Although a number of well-known players have already secured new residences, former Defensive Player of the Year Stephon Gilmore remains unsigned.
Gilmore, a talented cornerback who was first picked by the Buffalo Bills in the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft, had not quite fulfilled his full potential until he signed with the New England Patriots. The cornerback, who was named to the First Team All-Pro thrice and took home the Defensive Player of the Year award in 2019, was instrumental in the latter stages of the dynasty.
