I can’t say that I blame the many people who are confused about Alabama basketball this week as they fill up their brackets.
Look at this team’s recent performance, after all. Prior to the NCAA Tournament, Alabama had lost four of its previous six games, fallen about six ranks in KenPom’s adjusted efficiency margin, had a defensive efficiency rating outside of the top 100, and had not been making many baskets recently.
To be honest, it sounds like a formula for getting out of the NCAA Tournament early. I will, however, explain to you why I believe the reverse to be true. While I do not anticipate Alabama winning the national championship, I do predict the Crimson Tide will win two games this weekend and advance to the Sweet 16 for the third time in the previous four years.
To begin with, I don’t believe Alabama is currently participating in Sweet 16 basketball. Nobody who is able to see should. The squad hasn’t seemed interested in playing defence for a month, and because of the numerous injuries they’ve sustained, they’ve had to play starters for excessively long stretches of time, making them appear exhausted on the court in numerous games.
The cadence of Jalen Milroe is the reason behind former Alabama centre Seth McLaughlin’s snapping problems, Ohio State head coach Ryan Day has said.
Day answered questions regarding the centre position on Tuesday during a media conference.
He remarked, “Seth’s snaps have been great.” “I am aware that raised some concerns. That, in my opinion, has a lot to do with the cadence or something. But he’s been doing fantastically thus far.
Day didn’t specifically mention Milroe, but it’s obvious that McLaughlin only ever collaborated with one quarterback.
Before going to Ohio State, McLaughlin played for nearly two seasons as a starting pitcher. Despite playing in 14 games the previous season, he was inconsistent.
McLaughlin’s poor decisions against No. 1 Michigan cost him several sacks. After mishandling the game’s final play in overtime on the 3-yard line, McLaughlin declined to answer any questions from the media.
McLaughlin discussed his problems from the previous season with media in January.
After a poor experience, McLaughlin stated, “you kind of start thinking about, ‘OK, I’ve got to get this right.'” “I don’t believe that I was having mental difficulties; it just happened. I’m not really sure what was going on or what caused it, but that’s in the past now, and I want to go on.
