This off-season, the Green Bay Packers made the tough choice to part ways with All-Pro offensive lineman David Bakhtiari. The decision touched the emotions of many Packers supporters, even if many may have anticipated it given his $40 million 2024 salary cap impact.
Ever since his ACL tear in December 2020, Bakhtiari has been coping with persistent knee problems. Undoubtedly, the injury had a lasting effect on his career. He discussed his future plans with reporter Ian Rapoport after becoming a free agent.
Like previously mentioned, after tearing his ACL late in the 2020 season, Bakhtiari has been dealing with knee issues. In 2022, he played 11 games after missing nearly all of the 2021 season.
In 2023, he missed all but one game. A second surgery, which sidelined him for the remainder of the season, put him on injured reserve in late September.
Earlier this month, the Packers released him.
