An NFC staff member who was staying late at his facility on Monday night had a television in his office. He looked at the TV from time to time, albeit in muffled vision, to watch quarterback Deshaun Watson of the Cleveland Browns take snaps against the Pittsburgh Steelers on “Monday Night Football.”
After throwing a pick six on his opening pass, Watson was having trouble advancing the ball. Yet this personnel man’s observation of it wasn’t merely idle curiosity. During Watson’s time at Clemson, he had conducted some scouting work. Later, when the Houston Texans
placed Watson on the trade block in the 2021 season, he worked on a second evaluation. The personnel man was curious about how Watson’s career would develop in Cleveland even though his organisation never had any conversations with the Texans. And Monday night’s sightings disturbed him.
The individual in charge of people stated, “It wasn’t the guy I saw before the trade.” “He is acting in a way that is inconsistent with his football persona.”
The personnel manager gave a brief analysis of the standout moments from the Steelers’ 26–22 defeat.
He cited the facemasks, pushing the referee, and throwing the ball against the wall following a touchdown. “.. He never performed in Houston in such manner.
He might have included the errors, interceptions, erroneous information, and abrupt drop in fan morale as Watson led the team on a game-winning drive in the latter part of the fourth quarter. Not to mention Watson’s eight starts for the Browns have generally been
devoid of exciting moments. Despite a plethora of circumstances, the influential individuals within Cleveland’s building remain unfazed, as they all maintain the belief that their quarterback is still developing his game.
The Browns’ self-assurance shouldn’t come as a surprise at this point. The season has only had two games thus far. Cleveland had a chance to go up 2-0 on the Steelers’ field thanks to a strip-sack and fumble recovery for a touchdown. They lost their best player of the
season, running back Nick Chubb, in front of his own teammates during this particular game. Additionally, the Browns’ defence performed admirably, which is encouraging for a quarterback who is still developing.
