Naturally, the Longhorns are formally joining the SEC this summer, and they will renew their rivalry with the Aggies in College Station in November of next year.

A tragic incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon when accused gunman opened fire during Kansas City’s Chiefs Super Bowl parade.

Three people are in critical condition and one person has been confirmed killed as a result of the incident.

With an estimated 10 to 15 injuries overall from the incident, five more patients are in critical condition. There are currently two suspects under arrest.

After the shooting, Charles Omeninhu, a former defensive end for the Longhorns, spoke out about American gun regulations and offered his condolences and prayers to the victims.

“Hopes are with the people impacted by today’s parade,” Omenihu stated on X. “A joyful moment comes to an unfortunate conclusion. What is the timeline for amending these firearms laws? Before someone says enough is enough, how many more people have to die?

Running back Bijan Robinson of the Atlanta Falcons, formerly of the Texas Longhorns, had an outstanding rookie campaign.

But that wasn’t enough to win him the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year title following the season; Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud won it on Thursday night.

Alongside Stroud, Jahmyr Gibbs and Sam LaPorta of the Lions, Puka Nacua of the Los Angeles Rams, and Robinson were the other nominees for the honour.
