T’Vondre Sweat, a defensive tackle for the Texas Longhorns, hinted to his ability to surprise with his speed during the 40-yard dash during the Scouting Combine on Wednesday in Indianapolis.
“I’m simply a large man,” Sweat remarked. “I think many people will be surprised when they see me move tomorrow. A lot of people get scared of the numbers and all that.”
He accomplished this on Thursday afternoon, running a 5.27 on his first try. He said no to running again.
Sweat tested on Thursday in additional measurements as well, achieving an 8′ 2″ broad jump and a 26-inch vertical.
Longhorns are distinctive. In addition, Byron Murphy tested. On his first try, he ran a 4.90 40-yard dash (1.69 10-yard split), jumped a 33-inch vertical, and cleared a 9′ 3″ broad jump. Murphy recorded a second-half 40-yard split of 4.8 (1.70).

Texas Tech fans were not happy throwing debris onto the court.
Tech coach Grant McCasland spoke to the fans afterward on the arena microphone, telling them to stop.
“Everybody listen. Hey, right here. Everybody listen,” said McCasland. “Everything that gets thrown on the floor, we’re going to get a technical foul. Listen to me. It’s got to stop. It’s got to stop. Nothing else on the floor. Am I clear?”
The Texas Longhorns are in the midst of winter workouts as they gear up for spring football next month.
And as is typically the case, the Longhorns football video team is on top of the action, recently releasing an exceptional video of the intense workouts.
In response to the video, former Texas quarterback Chance Mock lauded the physical change in the Longhorns players and managed to shade Texas A&M in the process.
