He only recorded five tackles and one pass defensed by the end of the season. Wright has a contract for this season, but at the end of it, he will be free to sign with any team.
He has made 32 game starts in his last three seasons with Dallas, totaling 37 tackles, one interception, and five passes defended.
If things don’t get much better this year, Wright’s demise seems imminent in 2025.
Last August, Dallas sent Igbinoghene to Miami in exchange for Kelvin Joseph.
He played five games in 2023 with no official stats. He spent seventy-five percent of his time on special teams.
This year, he is also a free agent.
It appears likely that the Cowboys will bring him back considering that they traded for him. They could have saved almost $13 million had they chosen to exercise the fifth-year option, but they chose not to do so.

Sieg will return to the Cowboys for 2024 on a one-year contract.
What it means: The Cowboys are clearly all in, isn’t that right? There was a lot of anger among supporters who wanted the Cowboys to do something after they became the only team to neither agree to a deal with an unrestricted free agency nor re-sign one of their own free agents. With Sieg back, the Cowboys will have Pro Bowl punter Bryan Anger, Pro Bowl kicker Brandon Aubrey, and Pro Bowl punter Brandon Aubrey from their special teams unit from the previous season. Knowing that the snap count would not be a problem because the kicker established records the previous season, Aubrey was particularly complimentary of Sieg’s work in his rookie season with the Cowboys.
On Monday, NFL source Aaron Wilson revealed that free agency running back Tony Pollard is joining the Tennessee Titans, which came as a surprise to Dallas Cowboys fans. The 26-year-old running back spent five seasons with the Cowboys before becoming an unrestricted free agency.
Some supporters weren’t expecting the change, even though it seemed like the writing was on the wall. Thankfully, Dianna Russini of The Athletic has contributed to illuminating Pollard’s decision to choose Tennessee over the Lone Star State.
