DONE DEAL DJ LeMahieu have just signed in agreement of 4 years contract that worth $8.100millions….

The New York Yankees, who are suddenly uneasy about their pitching staff, have reportedly offered the Chicago White ace Dylan Cease on Tuesday, according t Sox a new offer foro USA Today.

Chris Getz, the new general manager of Chicago, is apparently willing to move Cease, but only at a price that some clubs have claimed is outrageous. Although USA Today stated that the most recent offer did not include outfield prospect Spencer Jones, Getz is believed to desire Jones included in a deal from the Yankees.

Gerrit Cole, the winner of the American League Cy Young Award, will get an MRI on his throwing elbow, according to Yankees manager Aaron Boone, who announced on Monday. The right-hander has required more time to recover than normal for this time of year.

The Yankees have not made a statement.

Although Jordan Montgomery and Blake Snell, two starting pitchers still available as free agents, Cease is a less expensive option that might assist the Yankees stick to their budget; in addition, he is currently participating in spring training with the White Sox.

In order to avoid arbitration, he inked a one-year, $8 million contract in January. He will be eligible for arbitration for one more season before becoming an unrestricted free agent in 2026.

With the White Sox, Cease made his major league debut in 2019. He has a 43-35 career record, a 3.83 ERA, and 792 strikeouts in 658 innings pitched over 123 games (all starts).

He has tossed five innings and started two games this spring. He has struck out six and allowed just one run on a solo home run.

Jones, twenty-two

With corner infielder J.D. Davis going unclaimed on outright waivers, the Giants have sought unconditional release waivers, according to NBC Sports Bay Area’s Alex Pavlovic. He will become a free agent after clearing.

Earlier in the offseason, Davis prevailed in an arbitration battle against the Giants, earning a $6.9 million contract. That amount isn’t completely guaranteed, though, until Opening Day, per the terms of the collective bargaining agreement. The Giants might only owe him $1.11 million, or 30 days’ worth of termination compensation, if they cut him immediately. Nonetheless, the CBA makes it clear that this also applies to players who have “failed to exhibit sufficient skill or competitive ability.” Davis, who hit.248/.325/.413 with 18 home runs during the 2023 season, hardly seems to fit that description.
