VERY SAD: Hannah Schmitz just confirmed to be d….

Certain women are having a significant influence in the predominantly masculine realm of Formula 1. Hannah Schmitz is a good illustration. Get to know the astute strategist that drove Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez to glory!

It’s not just guys who shine in Formula 1; a few of women do as well. Hannah Schmitz, formerly known as Hannah McMillan, is one such instance. Schmitz was passionate about vehicles and technology even as a young child growing up in London. She played water polo at Croydon High School and was an excellent player.

In fact, Verstappen’s driving prowess was not the only factor in Red Bull’s victory in Brazil; the squad worked together to achieve it. Significant tactical choices, spearheaded by Schmitz, were important. In retrospect, her bold choice to fit Verstappen with new tyres during a safety-car scenario proved to be the right one. That’s the reason she stepped on the podium to toast to millions of Formula 1 fans worldwide, under the supervision of team manager Christian Horner, and share some well-earned champagne.

Following Max Verstappen’s victory at the 2019 Brazilian Grand Prix, Schmitz gained notoriety. The constructors’ trophy Schmitz received was a testament to the significance of her contribution.

Hannah Schmitz has an amazing resume, based on a quick look at her LinkedIn profile. She completed her mechanical engineering degree at the University of Cambridge, where she also actively participated in a number of projects, such as the Solar Team and a solar power initiative in Chile. She began working for Red Bull in 2009 as a modelling and simulator engineer and eventually advanced to the position of senior strategy engineer. Her current position is Head Strategy Engineer, which she shares with her coworker Will Courtenay every race. Courtenay will be at Red Bull Racing’s Operations Room in Milton Keynes if Schmitz is on the pit wall during a race, and vice versa.
