Allen Robinson have just announced that he will be leaving soon due to….

Not just cornerback Patrick Peterson was let go by the Steelers on Friday.

ESPN’s Field Yates says that wide receiver Allen Robinson has also been released by the organisation. Robinson was signed through the 2024 season and acquired by the Steelers from the Rams in a trade last year.

Robinson’s exit will remove $10 million from the salary ceiling, but he will leave behind dead money of less than $2 million.

Despite only having 34 receptions for 280 yards last season, Robinson started every game for the Steelers. Robinson had three disappointing seasons with three separate teams, so it’s unlikely that he will have a lot of interest in signing with him for the 2024 campaign.

One of the Steelers’ more seasoned defensive players is on the outside looking in as they get ready to face quarterback Russell Wilson.

Pittsburgh is releasing defensive back Patrick Peterson, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

The 34-year-old Peterson inked a two-year contract with the Steelers in March of last year. The third day of the new league year was the next week, and he was supposed to get a $3 million roster bonus.

The Steelers will avoid paying the cap $6.85 million by releasing Peterson.

Peterson appeared in each of Pittsburgh’s 17 games last season, starting 16. He was on the field for 97 percent of the team’s defensive snaps, playing some safety over the course of the year due to several injuries in the secondary.

He finished 2023 with 42 total tackles, 11 passes defensed, and two interceptions.

The No. 5 overall pick of the 2011 draft, Peterson spent his first 10 seasons with the Cardinals before playing two seasons with the Vikings. He has 36 career interceptions with 122 passes defense

According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, free agent centre Mitch Morse wrapped up his visitation with the Steelers on Friday night.

Morse was cut go by the Bills on Wednesday.

After releasing Mason Cole, the Steelers now have a hole at centre to fill.

After joining the Bills in 2019, Morse appeared in all 87 of the team’s regular-season and postseason games as a starter.

Next on his itinerary, according to Fowler, is Jacksonville.
