49ER coach have just received a very brutal news from the…..

The greatest football player to ever hail from Romania is Gheorghe Hagi, who guided his country to the World Cup quarterfinals in 1994.

Romania advanced to the round of 16 by defeating Argentina 3-2 after defeating the hosts USA and Colombia in the group stages. Hagi scored the game’s winning goal. Even though Sweden stood in their way of advancing to the semi-finals, the Eastern Europeans were optimistic.

Despite their loss on penalties, which came after a 2-2 draw in extra time, Hagi says he had higher goals in mind than merely making it to the championship game.

Hagi tells FourFourTwo, “I went to the US with one thought in mind: I wanted to win the World Cup.” “That was my dream, and I made an effort to share my wish with the entire group. Though we were still young, our experience surpassed that of 1990, and we were playing well.

In Romania, everyone aspired to rule America. We desired to move to the free world following the demise of communism. Sport may take you far, as Romanian gymnastics and tennis teams attest to. Football had the opportunity to take the lead. We represented Romania as ambassadors and played really well.

Hagi reflects on the competition and mentions his amazing performance against Colombia during the group stages.

Hagi took possession of the ball about thirty yards from goal while standing on the left flank, bending to cross. Rather, the playmaker’s shot cleared Oscar Cordoba in the Colombian goal, surprising the 91,000 spectators packed into the Rose Bowl stadium in Los Angeles.

About the strike, Hagi remarks, “It was the hardest goal to score.” It need all of those things: skill, personality, inspiration, strength, courage, and risk-taking. When you feel confident and well-suited, you don’t hesitate to take a chance. We prepared for it because it required preparedness.
