March 1, 2024 – Cleveland, OH – Newswise At the NFL Physicians Society’s (NFLPS) annual meeting on Thursday, James Voos, MD, the head team physician for the Cleveland Browns and the Jack & Mary Herrick Distinguished Chair of Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine at University Hospitals (UH), was overwhelmingly voted as the organization’s president.
I am appreciative of Dr. McAdams’ and the NFLPS Board’s leadership, and it is an honour to represent the NFLPS. Dr. Voos stated, “I am dedicated to carrying out the aim of offering NFL players the best possible care and to supporting the esteemed medical professionals in our community.
James Voos’ election as NFLPS president makes me very happy. As the Cleveland Browns’ team physician for many years, he has consistently shown exceptional clinical discernment, leadership abilities, and the ability to conduct high-caliber, meaningful research. “With his combination of qualities, he is the perfect candidate to lead this esteemed organisation,” stated Dr. Timothy McAdams, head physician of the 49ers and outgoing NFLPS President.
Since 2014, Dr. Voos has been the Cleveland Browns’ head team physician. He is the Executive Director of the UH Haslam Sports Innovation Centre in addition to his position with the Browns. In addition, he serves as the chief orthopaedic physician for several high schools and colleges in Northeast Ohio.
