Jaylen Waddle just announced that he will be living the team today due to….

The Miami Dolphins concluded the 2023 regular season with an 11-6 record, marking their first 11-win campaign since 2008 and their second straight winning season under head coach Mike McDaniel.

Only two coaches in Dolphins history have made the playoffs in both of their first two seasons in charge: Hall of Famer Don Shula (1970–71) and Dave Wannstedt (2000–01). McDaniel is the third coach in that history.

For the first time since 1997–2001, the Dolphins have participated in the postseason in back-to-back seasons.

With the help of BDO, we delve Inside the Numbers to examine the most noteworthy team numbers, individual metrics, accomplishments, and other details from an amazing 2023 campaign.

For the first time since 1994, the Dolphins topped the league in passing offence (265.5), total offence (401.3), and quarterback hits allowed (59). All of that resulted in quarterback Tua Tagovailoa’s second-ranked scoring offence (29.2) in the league.

With a career-high 4,624 passing yards and 29 passing touchdowns, Tagovailoa led the NFL. In addition, he placed third in completion % (69.3), second in yards per pass attempt (8.3), and fourth in passer rating (101.1).

With 16 games played, wide receiver Tyreek Hill tied for first place with 13 receiving touchdowns and led the NFL with a league-best 1,799 receiving yards on 119 receptions (15.1 avg). Hill’s 1,799 yards set a new franchise record and rank seventh in NFL history.

In addition to creating history, wide receiver Jaylen Waddle became the eighth receiver in NFL history to start a career with three consecutive 1,000-yard seasons and the first player from the Dolphins to record three consecutive 1,000-yard receiving seasons.

Waddle and Hill are one of three teammates pairings that have each reached 1,000 yards in each of the last two seasons, along with DeVonta Smith and A.J. Brown of Philadelphia and Mike Evans and Chris Godwin of Tampa Bay.

Since Matt Schaub and Andre Johnson led the Houston Rockets in passing and receiving yards in the same season in 2009, Tagovailoa and Hill became the only quarterback-wide receiver tandem to accomplish this feat.
