Speaking on Wednesday, Horner had been cleared of any wrongdoing in a probe by Red Bull GmbH, the Austrian parent company of the Formula One team, after a female worker had accused him of acting inappropriately.
Throughout the external inquiry, which was led by a specialised barrister, Horner had refuted the allegations. Horner will continue to lead Red Bull at this week’s Bahrain Grand Prix to kick off the season.
“It’s a challenging question to respond to, of course,” seven-time world champion Hamilton stated earlier on Wednesday.
“Everything we do to attempt to make the sport and the workplace seem safe and welcoming has to be done more, and any accusations must be treated extremely seriously.
Though it’s obvious that we don’t know everything that happened, the situation needs to be handled because it’s weighing heavily on the sport. It will be fascinating to observe how it is handled going forward and what impact it might or might not have on the sport in the long run.
“I believe that now is a crucial time for the sport to make sure we uphold our core principles.
The current world champion, Max Verstappen, stated that his preparations for the upcoming season had not been impacted by the Horner inquiry.
The Red Bull driver responded, “It doesn’t,” when asked if the circumstance was affecting him prior to the results being revealed. My entire concentration is on how well the car and I do. I hope it gets fixed really quickly.
It’s a whole team effort that everyone has to stick together and work to more success, so that’s why it’s important to get everything resolved very soon.
When questioned later, the Dutchman clarified his remarks, saying, “Of course, it’s very important that everyone stays together when you talk about performance.”
During the drivers’ news conference, Verstappen was asked several times about his opinions on the probe. He advised patience and refraining from making any public statements about the situation.
I do not want to get into that because it’s not my case anyway and I don’t want to be involved with that,” he stated.
