Judd Trump wins his fourth ranking championship of the season at the German Masters after defeating Si Jiahui 10-5. The world No. 2 player won three straight events in October, including the English Open, Wuhan Open, and Northern Ireland Open. Trump has now won 27 ranking titles in his career.

The world No. 2 finished first in three straight October tournaments, winning the English Open, Wuhan Open, and Northern Ireland Open. On Sunday, he claimed another trophy in Berlin.

Trump’s triumph at the German Masters was his third; he had previously won the event twice, in 2020 and 2021, albeit the Covid-19 pandemic forced the second tournament to be hosted in Milton Keynes.

The Chinese player lowered his opponent’s lead to one after winning the last frame of the afternoon session and the first of the evening with a 123 break, despite the Bristolian’s 5-2 lead.

But Trump scored four frames in a row with back-to-back hundreds and a 74-run break. Si won the next one, but Trump sealed the win with more half-centuries, including an 81 in the final frame.

Trump has amassed 27 ranking championships as he approaches Davis.

Throughout his career, the 34-year-old has already won 27 ranking titles; only Ronnie O’Sullivan (41), Stephen Hendry (36), John Higgins (31) and Steve Davis (28), have won more.

Later this month, Trump has the opportunity to equal Davis’ record at the Welsh Open, an event he has yet to win, with his best results coming in second place to Stuart Bingham in 2017 and Joe Perry in 2022.

Apart from winning four titles in 2024, Trump has advanced to three more finals.

In August of last year, he was defeated by Barry Hawkins in the European Masters in Nuremberg. In November, he was defeated 10-3 by Mark Allen at the non-ranking Champion of Champions.

Then, in January, O’Sullivan defeated Trump 10-7 in the World Grand Prix, as The Rocket followed up his victory at the esteemed Masters tournament one week earlier.

In order to give his “health and wellbeing” top priority, O’Sullivan

withdrew from the German Masters.
