McCarron’s signing with the St. Louis Battlehawks has been announced by the UFL. Playing with the Battlehawks, McCarron won the XFL MVP award last season. This season, the Battlehawks are in the UFL, a league created by the union of the USFL and the XFL.

 

After being cut by the Bengals this week, McCarron, 33, was free to sign with the Battlehawks right away. He stated that he preferred starting in the XFL over being a backup in the NFL during the previous season, and this year he will start in the UFL.McCarron was The 2020 XFL season ended with the St. Louis Battlehawks. And the Battlehawks made it through the XFL in 2023.

St. Louis is currently one of four XFL clubs that have received an invitation to participate in the 2024 UFL, which will be the result of the XFL and USFL merging.

The Birmingham Stallions, Houston Roughnecks, Memphis Showboats, and Michigan Panthers will compete in the USFL Conference, while the Battlehawks will play in the XFL Conference alongside the Arlington Renegades, D.C. Defenders, and San Antonio Brahmans.

St. Louis was one of six teams to make it from the 2020 version of the XFL to the 2023 version, which was under new league ownership led by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

The Battlehawks were coached by former NFL tight end Anthony Becht and went 7-3 in the North Division. In spite of the quality of their season, the Battlehawks did not qualify for the playoffs.

The D.C. Defenders won the division with a 9-1 record and St. Louis found itself tied for second with the Seattle Sea Dragons, who claimed the other playoff spot due to a tiebreaker.
