SAD NEWS: the Pittsburgh Steelers game is confirmed to be ………..

Following Ben Roethlisberger’s announcement of his retirement, Pittsburgh selected Pickett out of Pitt in the 2022 NFL Draft with the intention of him replacing him as the team’s quarterback going forward. But despite a difficult first two seasons, Matt Canada was let go by the Steelers in the middle of the 2023 season as offensive coordinator.

Pittsburgh Since Mitch Trubisky is available this offseason, the Cleveland Browns, who have a history of adding former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterbacks to their roster, may try to pick up another one.

Trubisky, a free agent now, wants to sign with a fourth NFL team so he may try to fight for a backup position away from the Steelers. Tony Grossi of ESPN Radio thinks the Browns might be that team.

If he does land in Cleveland, Trubisky will meet his former team twice this upcoming season but will have to compete with second-year passer Dorion Thompson-Robinson for the No. 2 spot on the roster.

Mitch Trubisky as a possible fallback,” stated Grossi. “To begin with, Trubisky was well-liked by the Andrew Berry and Paul DePodesta administration upon his release from the draft. There’s also the connection to Ken Dorsey. With Brian Daboll serving as the coordinator at the time, Trubisky moved from Chicago to Buffalo as the backup quarterback. The quarterback’s coach was Dorsey. I believe Trubisky will be Ken Dorsey’snominee.

Dulac reported “there appears to be some internal division” regarding whether Pickett or Rudolph should be the starting quarterback in 2024. Rudolph put together a strong finish to the 2023 season, finishing with a 3-0 record as the starter over his four appearances – the first of which came after Pickett suffered a high ankle sprain late in the year. In that time, he threw for 719 yards and three touchdowns as the Steelers flirted with a playoff appearance.
