Freddie Kitchens, the coach of the Browns, does not want his team to be afraid of the extraordinary demands made of them.
“We always want to win the Super Bowl here with the Cleveland Browns, and I want everyone to understand that,” he stated. “I want to never be afraid to discuss what our objective is.”

“Don’t attach the parachute if you plan to not jump out of the aeroplane. Guys who put on a parachute are what I want.
On the eve of the team’s training camp, which will take place at the suburban headquarters of the team, general manager John Dorsey and head coach of the inaugural season jointly held a news conference on Wednesday.
The Browns’ excitement following their 7-8-1 season under rookie quarterback Baker Mayfield is evident in the distribution of all the tickets for the 15 open practices.
The addition of Pro Bowl stars Odell Beckham Jr., a wide receiver, and Olivier Vernon, a defensive end, has altered the perception of a team that was 0-16 two years prior and lasted 635 days and 19 games without winning before defeating the Jets on September 20, 2018.
Kitchens remarked, “Odell is a great player, and I like great players that want to win.” “I also enjoy excellent musicians who aspire to be authentic. Excellent players who can go open and make huge catches appeal to me. I believe he accomplishes all those things really well. It is our responsibility as coaches to position him to make plays.
By training together in California, Mayfield, Beckham, and wide receiver Jarvis Landry tried to hasten the process. Kitchens isn’t worried about Mayfield’s attention straying from football despite the fact that he married and spent a significant amount of time building his celebrity.
“Don’t ever have any doubts about Baker’s abilities; he is an expert in his field,” stated Kitchens, who was Cleveland’s offensive coordinator and running backs coach the previous campaign.
Baker is the same as he was the day he arrived as a rookie. Despite the fact that he is only 24 years old and has a long life ahead of him, I want him to be himself. He will not alter for anyone. He will always tell it how it is. I find that appealing about him.
One position of worry is running back, as after the team signed former Chiefs star Kareem Hunt, Duke Johnson openly asked for a trade. Johnson did arrive at the camp on schedule.
Nick Chubb, a second-year player, is the starting quarterback; Hunt was released by Kansas City after an eight-game suspension for domestic abuse. His groyne issue has landed him on the active/non-football injury list.
Dorsey reported that he had a productive conversation with Drew Rosenhaus, Johnson’s agent. He also talked about the fight that Hunt and the NFL had recently had outside of a pub in downtown Cleveland, saying that it is not a big deal.
Dorsey remarked, “Freddie and I both got to sit down with him.” “Kareem is aware that life is full with uncertainties. He is conducting his business in the same manner as before. Both on and off the pitch, he is working really hard.
Now that camp is here, Kitchens anticipates seeing a similar level of effort from the rest of the roster.
He declared, “This is the only company in the world where you hire ninety guys and fire half of them.” We’re merely a group of talented players individually for now. We are just some talented players till we take action. The goal of this game is to win. Every day, that is all that this is about.
NOTES: S Damarious Randall, who will become an unrestricted free agency in March, is currently in negotiations to extend his contract. With his agent, Dave Butz, Dorsey claimed to have had “a lot of good conversations”. After moving from cornerback to tackle previous season, Randall had 84 tackles and four interceptions for Cleveland. .. It was standard news conference gear for Dorsey to wear a Browns sweatshirt and Kitchens to wearing a Brownie the Elf cap and team-logo pullover. “Do you think we read GQ magazine cover to cover?” Dorsey chuckled.
