He was wide open. Just tried to shot put it out there,” Daniel said. “We had a little double move on and we alerted it. We got man coverage. We got exactly what we wanted. Thought it was a great play call. I thought K-White did a really great job, actually watched the route in there and [he] really sold it. Sold a curl at the sticks. It was third-and-6 and he did a really good job not getting pressed coming out of it.
White didn’t have to play in the Hall of Fame game, but reps remain important for him. Confidence is still something the Bears want to grow with the No. 7 pick so they can get something out of him this season. Winning on that kind of route is also a positive, as most of White’s damage in camp has been on straight ‘go’ routes.
This preseason, White has four catches for 48 yards. He can handle a quick screen or out, a curl or go. He isn’t going to have the route tree of an Allen Robinson or Anthony Miller, but he still brings a size and speed element the Bears won’t ignore. Of course, having paid him what he’s owed helps, not to mention the desire to get production from a top-10 pick.

I love underdogs. When you have an underdog that fights his tail off to improve, and when people don’t believe in him and he proves the people that do believe in him right, then there’s nothing better than that.
Yeah, it was one play. We’ve got to evaluate the rest of his play. But I was really happy he was able to get that touchdown at home, in front of his home fans. He worked hard for that.
On third down, Wims gained separation on the top of his route from veteran Chiefs corner David Amerson on his crossing route. Then Wims showed off his speed and was off to the races for 54 yards.
