GOOD NEWS: World Snooker will analyse a player as profanity-filled rant as Ali Carter responds.

World Snooker will analyse a player as profanity-filled rant as Ali Carter responds.

World Snooker executives will examine Ronnie O’Sullivan’s profanity-filled press conference, during which he described Ali Carter—whom he defeated 10-7 in The Masters final—as “a nightmare” and “not a nice person.” Carter maintains that O’Sullivan’s remarks “make no difference to me.

Ronnie O’Sullivan’s remarks, according to Ali Carter, “make no difference to me” as World Snooker executives assess the Masters champion’s foul-mouthed press conference in London on Sunday.

After learning that Carter had been accused of “snotting on the floor” by his opponent in the Masters final, O’Sullivan verbally attacked Carter, calling him “a nightmare” and “not a nice person” during his 10-7 triumph at Alexandra Palace.

Carter told ITV4 in response, saying that Ronnie has a right to his own views. I merely described the situation as it was. It’s that simple: I talk about the facts.

What he says doesn’t matter to me; his words vary depending on the day. I don’t think he even anticipates what he will say at any given moment.”

O’Sullivan: What’s the deal with Carter and me?

Regarding Carter, O’Sullivan had stated: “He needs to get his f*****g life together. I will no longer avoid it, tread carefully around someone of that calibre. He is an absolute nightmare.

It’s a nightmare to play snooker against someone like him. He is not a kind individual. He leaves a bad impression on everyone at the table.

“I don’t give a s**t; I’ve had my say. I’m done talking about it. You and everyone else are aware of his personality. He has problems. Why is he having problems with me, f*****g? I refuse to accept it.”

The Press Association was informed that O’Sullivan’s outburst was “under review” by a World Snooker Tour official.

At the 2018 World Championship, which O’Sullivan won in the 2008 and 2012 finals, Carter and O’Sullivan got into a shoulder-barge fight.

Doherty: Snooker headlines aren’t the best

World champion Ken Doherty in 1997 commented, “There is history behind it with the shoulder barge at the World Championship and it goes from there,” on ITV4 during the broadcaster’s coverage of the World Grand Prix in Leicester.

“There is ill will between them, and he was also responding to what Ali stated during the press conference. Though not exactly exciting news, I’m sure World Snooker will review it and we’ll see what happens.”

After losing to O’Sullivan in the final on Sunday, Carter had called out the “morons” in the Alexandra Palace crowd, stating: “It’s hard enough to beat [O’Sullivan].”

However, it’s absurd when you have people yelling at you when you’re on your shot and making foolish comments during crucial moments because only half of them have enough intelligence.

“Among the crowd are some idiots. Really, that is simply astounding.”

Following the World Grand Prix, O’Sullivan will not compete.

Tuesday night, O’Sullivan defeated China’s Pang Junxu 4-2 in his World Grand Prix opener. Following the match, he reaffirmed his intention to take a vacation.

The 48-year-old stated in an interview with ITV4 that “I will definitely be missing a few tournaments after this.”

To be honest, I shouldn’t have really come here, but since everything is well, I figured I would just show up. Looking back, I should not have gone.

Exhibitions are now my primary focus. I have to make time for my sponsors because I have a contract that pays $25 per year. I have 25 to 30 days with them, which equates to two months of crucial time for me.

“Basically, I play and perform to get my cue out of the case; if there were no tournaments, I wouldn’t play.

Though knowing World Snooker, I’m sure they would say no, I would like to think that if I were to fall off the circuit, I might receive a wild card.

The only thing I truly want to do is hold onto my tour card. To be frank, I don’t care about tournaments; they’re not my fave thing.”

O’Sullivan and Carter might face off in the World Grand Prix final. Carter defeated Wu Yize 4-3 to start his Leicester campaign.

In the round of sixteen, Carter will play Mark Selby and O’Sullivan will play Zhou Yuelong.
