Clearwater, Florida is the starting point of the journey towards what Phillies supporters believe would be a third straight season with a long postseason run.

The Phillies’ long-term home away from home will serve as the site of the team’s first spring training games. The 2024 squad will be highly anticipated to start the upcoming MLB season.

The Phillies are aware of their closeness after losing to the upstart Diamondbacks in the NLCS last year and losing to the Astros in the World Series in 2022. For the first time since 2008, they merely need to take one or two more steps to raise the Commissioner’s Trophy.

The Phillies had a quiet offseason, and their roster remains pretty much intact. The team’s big move was to re-sign star Aaron Nola for a seven-year contract. They also gave manager Rob Thomson an extension that would last until 2025. Although veterans Rhys Hoskins of the Brewers and Craig Kimbrel of the Orioles have gone on, there is still plenty of talent for another postseason push.

In Clearwater, the Phillies’ spring training home since 1947, their work will get underway. Despite turning 20 this spring, BayCare Ballpark, the team’s current home venue, is still regarded as one of the best for fans in the Grapefruit League.

Schedule for Phillies spring training in 2024

The initial workouts for Phillies catchers and pitchers will take place on Wednesday, February 14. The first full-squad exercise is scheduled for Monday, February 19.

Five days later, on Saturday, February 24, spring training games get underway. The first game at BayCare Ballpark is scheduled for the following day. Fans of baseball can get tickets for each game on StubHub if they’re travelling for spring training.
