Chris Biderman of the Sacramento Bee and Candlestick Chronicles Podcast joined Stiles & Watkins to discuss a variety of topics, including the 49ers’ Super Bowl aspirations, the Kings’ recent road success, and more.

The Kings have won four straight after going winless for four games. Their most recent victory came on Monday night when they defeated the Memphis Grizzlies 103-94. Despite having lost three of their previous four games coming into their game against the Sacramento Kings, Memphis took the court on Monday night without ten players.

“Considering how the Grizzlies have shown that they can play hard and defend, it’s not all that concerning.” Additionally, Memphis is generally a difficult place to play, according to Biderman. “I don’t really care that much. The Monarchs

GG Jackson leads the Sacramento Kings by two points.

Jayson Tatum, the star player for the Boston Celtics, and Williamson did not play together at Duke. Tatum attended in 2016–17 before the Celtics selected him third overall, while Williamson only attended in 2018–19. Tatum, however, will always be a Blue Devil, and Williamson is grateful that Tatum showed him around the campus prior to his freshman year.

When asked about Tatum, Williamson responded, “He’s been a great dude and has been since Day 1,” to reporters. “Tatum returned early in the summer, during K Academy, just before my freshman year. It was JT, Amile Jeffesron, Cam Reddish, and myself. JT and Amile gave us a tour of Durham, showing us the neighbourhoods and other things of that sort. JT has been reliable from the beginning.”

Tyrese Haliburton had already missed three games this season when, on January 8, he played 13 minutes and strained his hamstring against the Boston Celtics. Due to the injury, he missed the next 10 games for the Pacers; he is scheduled to make his return on Tuesday night against the same Celtics.

The league’s new Player Participation Policy, which states a player must play more than 20 minutes in 65 games to qualify for any postseason award, has prevented Haliburton from being named an All-NBA player despite his breakout season and vote as an All-Star starter. Here’s where the $41 million comes in. During the offseason, Haliburton inked a five-year, $204.5 million contract (using the $141 million option) with the Pacers, which is the maximum contract extension.

It’s no accident that the NBA and Commissioner Adam Silver were negotiating a new broadcast rights agreement at the same time that the 65-game rule and the In-Season Tournament abruptly surfaced. Silver needed to support the value of the regular season. The NBA is selling inventory in order to accommodate the 82-game regular season that runs from October through April on cable television, but the value of those games decreases if important players miss out. The league made an attempt to restrict “load management,” despite the fact that many of those games were set by teams attempting to preserve the health and fatigue of their best players for the postseason, when owners and fans really start to worry about the nightly results of games.

Players are eligible for postseason awards if they miss 17 out of the 18 games this season; that equates to missing slightly over 20% of the season. Although Haliburton has missed 13 games due to his hamstring problem, the game in which he was hurt and only played for a little over 13 minutes does not count towards the 65 games that players are allowed to play in if they play 15+ minutes but do not reach 20; Haliburton does not meet that requirement with his injury game.

That means Haliburton will lose out on $41 million even if he misses just four more games during the season. He only needs to miss a week of work due to a single rolled ankle.

Haliburton, reasonably speaking.

1 / 2 Key insights from the Knicks’ 118-103 victory over the Jazz on Tuesday, including Donte DiVincenzo’s career-best performance
Tuesday night’s 118-103 victory over the Utah Jazz extended the Knicks’ winning streak to eight games as they began a six-game homestand.

Here are a few things to remember: The Knicks were shorthanded in this one as well, as they were in Monday’s decisive victory over the Charlotte HornetsHornets. Star SF OG Anunoby was sidelined for the second straight game because of inflammation in his right elbow.

Anunoby was still regarded as day-to-day, so Tom Thibodeau had to once more rely on a makeshift starting five made up of

– Quentin Grimes scored seven points and pulled down five rebounds to lead New York into the second quarter with a seven-point lead. However, the shooting guard left the game after twisting his ankle and knee during a drive to the basket by Collin Sexton.

After replacing Grimes, DiVincenzo continued where he left off, making his fourth and fifth three-pointers of the first half and forcing a Utah shot clock violation with tough defence on the other end.

The Knicks had an eight-point advantage at the half despite playing with a short bench and Brunson only scoring two field goals in the first half. With 19 points, DiVincenzo led all scorers, and Achiwua

In order to help dribble out the 118-103 victory, Thibodeau gave in and started Taj Gibson in his first game back with the team as the crowd erupted in chants for him in the closing minutes of the contest.

– Since the start of the New Year, the Knicks have improved to 14-2, the best month-long run in the team’s history since March 1994 (14-0). They have also surpassed the Philadelphia 76ers to take sole possession of the third seed in the Eastern Conference.
