The past few years have seen a lot of changes.
Basketball HC for Alabama Rob Vaughn Provides Dylan Lonergan Update
Rob Vaughn talked about the possibility of one Crimson Tide player playing two sports.
Dylan Lonergan, the quarterback for the Crimson Tide, enrolled early at Alabama, but he did not participate in baseball as a right-handed pitcher last spring. Regarding whether two sports are still in the cards for the Snellville, Georgia, product, head coach Rob Vaughn of Alabama, in his first season, gave an update on Friday.
The football programme has seen a lot of adjustments in the last several weeks, according to Vaughn. “The nature of those modifications has been well documented. Dylan, for the time being, I believe, will concentrate on his football career. He is incredibly gifted.
Jason Jackson,
a longtime pitching coach and associate head coach, has watched Lonergan in action and has grown to love him. He was one of Georgia’s top high school baseball players and planned to play both sports at the varsity level. But plans do not always go as planned. He has played in one regular season football game thus far, on November 18, when he completed two passes against Chattanooga.
It was left to Lonergan by Vaughn, who did not categorically rule out the young signal caller making a final trip back to the diamond. “Dylan will have a lot of control over what it means for him going forward and how that plays out in the long run.
Without a question, we would be thrilled to have him involved in our work. He seems like a gifted young man, but for the time being he will concentrate on what is in front of him. That speaks volumes about who he is and what he has truly accomplished at that football pitch over the past six or seven months.” Although Lonergan isn’t anticipated to be around “a tonne,” Vaughn would always be happy to have him.
