S.C. CLEMSON – On Tuesday, Clemson volleyball head coach Jackie Simpson Kirr revealed that Kate Hansen and Indigo Young would be joining the 2024 squad. Young, who played four seasons at Charleston Southern, is a graduate transfer to the Tigers, while Hansen, who just finished her freshman year at Texas Tech, will be a sophomore in the autumn of 2024. At the start of the spring semester, both are scheduled to enrol in the programme.

“The combination of Kate and Indigo will provide great depth in our middle position and continue to elevate our front line,” Simpson Kirr said.

2023 Academic All-Star Team
She attended and graduated from Harrison High School before attending Charleston Southern. There, she was selected for the GHSA 6A All-State team, the VCA Under Armour All-American Watch List, the HHS Offensive Player of the Year, the All-Region player, and the team captain in 2018 and 2019.
At Harrison, she won state titles in both 2016 and 2017. Her career ended with 622 kills, 278 blocks, and a.410 hitting percentage.

According to Simpson Kirr, “Indigo is a very dynamic middle who is quick and difficult for opponents to defend.” She uses a variety of routes, which is ideal for our offensive strategy. Her leadership skills both on and off the court will be invaluable to the advancement of our programme.

assisted the TAV 16 Black team win a Girls Junior Open National Championship (GJNC) while playing club ball with the TAV 17 Black squad.

According to Simpson Kirr, Kate is an excellent blocker, matching Adria Powell’s per-set averages from the previous season. She’ll provide a vital component to our net defence. Her ambition to excel and her wish to be in a setting where everyone is focused on a single goal make her a great fit for our programme.
