EVANS JAN 21 SETS NEW FRANCHISE MARKS Mike Evans, a wide receiver from Texas A&M, has made an impression on the Tampa Bay Bucs during his whole career, and when he hangs up his cleats, he will undoubtedly be in the Hall of Fame.

Evans surpassed Leonard Fournette (572) to establish the Buccaneers franchise record for lifetime postseason yards from scrimmage on Saturday during Tampa Bay’s game against Detroit in the Divisional round.

THREE AGGIES TO PRO BOWL IN JAN. Following the selection of three Aggies standouts for the game this week, Texas A&M will have a strong representation at the Pro Bowl in Orlando this season.

First and foremost was defensive end Myles Garrett of the Browns, who has amassed 42 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, 14 sacks, four forced fumbles, and 30 quarterback hits. He is still one of the finest edge rushers in the game.

It was Buccaneers receiver Mike Evans’ seventh Pro Bowl selection after he was also chosen to the NFC team. Evans has 76 receptions for 1233 yards and a career-high 13 touchdowns this season. Currently, he has accumulated more over 1,000 yards in each of his ten NFL seasons.

Ravens defensive lineman Justin Madubuike, who enters the last week of the season with 54 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, 13 sacks, 32 quarterback hits, and a forced fumble, rounds out the group of Aggies travelling to Orlando.

CAMPBELL LEADS LIONS DEC 24 Dan Campbell, the current head coach of the NFL’s Detroit Lions and a former tight end for Texas A&M Aggies, has guided the team to its first division title since 1993.

After defeating division foe Minnesota 30–24, Detroit won the NFC North for the first time ever. Before the league switched to four divisions in 2002, the Lions had last won in their division, which was the former NFC Central.

In 1993, Jared Goff, the quarterback for Detroit now, wasn’t even born.

It’s awesome. It’s pretty nice, Goff said. The ability to look back on it as though we accomplished something that [teams following teams] hadn’t done in 30 years. This 2023 squad succeeded in ending that run, and we will ensure a home playoff game. However, we have some work to accomplish the following week and the week after that before deciding where to go.”

Following stints as a head coach with the Dolphins and Saints, Campbell joined Detroit as head coach in 2021. Between 1995 and 1998, Campbell was an Aggie. In the 1999 NFL Draft, the Giants selected him in the third round.

KIRK DEC 8 PLACED ON IR The Jacksonville Jaguars announced on Friday that they had placed Christian Kirk, a current NFL star and former wide receiver for the Aggies, on injured reserve. Kirk is likely going to need surgery for the core muscle injury he sustained on Monday night against the Bengals.

Kirk has three touchdowns in 12 games this season and leads the club in receiving yards (787 on 57 receptions).

CLEMONS EJECTED ON NOV. 24 At the beginning of the fourth quarter, former Texas A&M defensive lineman Micheal Clemons made contact with an official and was dismissed from the Miami Dolphins game on Saturday.

Clemons made contact with the referee during a confrontation with offensive tackle Austin Jackson, which resulted in his automatic disqualification. A personal foul penalty also resulted in Jackson’s removal from the game.

Last week, Clemons provoked a fight with Dion Dawkins, an offensive tackle for the Buffalo Bills. After the game, tensions increased between two players inside the tunnel at Highmark Stadium. It was necessary to separate the two players to prevent additional consequences.

Drafted in the fourth round, Clemons is in his second season with the New York Jets.

CHANGE TO RETURN ON NOV 13? Following his addition to injured reserve last month due to a knee injury, running back De’Von Achane has begun a 21-day practice window with the Miami Dolphins.

Achane will miss the rest of the season if the Dolphins don’t formally activate him to the 53-man roster during the next three weeks.

38 carries for 460 yards, five touchdowns, and an astounding 12.1 yards per carry average on the ground. In addition, he has scored two additional touchdowns and 11 receptions for 67 yards.

29 October Johnston Int Antonio Johnson, a former outstanding player for Texas A&M Aggies, received an unexpected birthday surprise on Sunday when he made his first NFL interception for the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The interception against the Pittsburgh Steelers late in the fourth quarter sealed Jacksonville’s 20-10 victory.

Jacksonville’s season record now stands at 6-2 thanks to the interception.

EVANS DOES IT AGAIN ON OCT 27 This week’s Thursday Night Football game between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Buffalo Bills featured wide receiver Mike Evans, who made another impression in front of a nationwide television audience.

Evans spun to collect a ball from Baker Mayfield at the goal line while sprinting diagonally across the middle of the field. He saw the ball bounce off the head of the defender and land in his hands for the touchdown.

In the end, the Buccaneers (3-4) dropped the match 24–18, extending their losing run to three games.

GARRETT IN THE NBA, OCT 25 Myles Garrett, a standout player at Texas A&M, has advanced to a new level of prominence in the NFL with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

He’s now sort of bringing his abilities to the NBA.

The Cavaliers said on Wednesday that Garrett had joined the franchise as a minority owner.

Garrett used to joke about wanting to play in the NBA, and now he gets to participate at least.

GARRETT BLOCKS FG, OCT 22 Myles Garrett, the legendary Texas A&M Aggie, is an absolute freak of athletics.

He demonstrated this once more on Sunday when he leaped above the offensive line of the Indianapolis Colts to stop a field goal.

Garrett has contributed to 5.5 sacks, three stuffs, and a forced fumble this season as a member of what is maybe the top defence in the NFL.

OCT 10 MOND SIGNS In response to starter Anthony Richardson’s injury, the Indianapolis Colts have added former Texas A&M quarterback Kellen Mond to their practice squad.

After former Texas Longhorns quarterback Sam Ehlinger and temporary starter Gardner Minshew, Mond will be the third-string quarterback.

Coach Shane Steichen of the Colts revealed that Richardson might miss many weeks due to a shoulder ailment.

“He’ll be absent for a while,” Steichen stated. In what amount of time? That is all the information I currently have on the matter, and I don’t know that.”

The Minnesota Vikings selected Mond in the third round, and he has only appeared in one NFL game while completing two of his three throws for five yards.

ACHANGE ON OCT 8 With a 76-yard rushing touchdown to give his side a 14-0 lead over the New York Giants, TD De’Von Achane, the running back for the Aggies, hit the end zone once more, demonstrating his growing talent for the Miami Dolphins.

As Achane solidifies his position as Miami’s new top running back, he scored his biggest touchdown of the season with a 76-yard rush.

Once again, OCT 1 ACHANE GOES NUTS. De’Von Achane, a former Texas A&M Aggie standout, burst into the scene last week against the Denver Broncos, amassing over 200 yards of rushes and four touchdowns.

Achane added two more touchdowns on Sunday to carry on that success against the Bills.

Achane concluded the day with five receptions for 19 yards and eight carries for 108 yards and the two scores.

MATHEWS MONEY MOVES, SEPT. 27 The Falcons have successfully restructured Jake Matthews’ deal, freeing up almost $7 million in 2023 cap space. That should give Atlanta around $10 million at this point, so what’s it for?

This is probably only a “flip-of-the-switch” adjustment that has no real impact on the outstanding lineman’s compensation. Naturally, this can also refer to funds that will be accessible in years to come, not just this one. A team making this step far ahead of a trade would be a little out of the ordinary; usually, the two moves would go hand in hand.

However, this is something to keep an eye on as the 2-1 Falcons regard themselves as contenders and may naturally be considering personnel upgrades.

A NEW NAME CHANGE ON SEPT 26 Running back De’Von Achane of the Miami Dolphins and Texas A&M Aggies wants his name pronounced differently.

He informed the media and the public relations team of the Dolphins that he preferred his last name to be called A-CHAN rather than A-CHAIN, as some people have done. He pointed out that many pronounce his first name “De-Von” rather than “Devon.”

For the second time, Achane has made it clear what he wants his name to stand for. Achane capitalised the V in his first name and put an apostrophe after the E earlier in the preseason.

From his time at Texas A&M to the NFL, one thing about Achane hasn’t changed: his domination when he has the ball in his hands.

Against the Denver Broncos on Sunday, Achane had his coming-out party as he ran for 203 yards and two touchdowns and caught four catches for 30 yards and two more scores.

The native of Missouri City, Texas, played a significant role in Miami’s record victory over the Denver Broncos, which saw the team score the most points in an NFL contest since 1966. The 70 points scored by the Dolphins are the second-highest in a regular season game and the third-most in an NFL game in history.

Achane was inactive in Week 1 but made his debut last week against the New England Patriots, running for five yards and catching a four-yard pass.

Given that Achane spent three years showcasing his abilities in Aggieland, it is no secret what he is capable of. With at least 200 carries, he ran for the second-most yards per carry and the 16th-most yards overall in programme history.
