Bruce Brown allegedly receiving big trade interest already

Veteran Bruce Brown seems to be more well-liked than ever, less than a week after he was dealt to the Toronto Raptors as part of the Pascal Siakam transaction.

Chris Haynes said on the “#thisleague UNCUT” show that there is a lot of trade interest in Brown. The Raptors will have no trouble meeting their expectations in the market, according to Haynes, since Brown is such a well-liked trade possibility.

While Brown is not a household name, several organisations are interested in him as a player. He was a major part in the Denver Nuggets’ championship run last season, which he parlayed into a $22M free agency contract with a club option for next season.

Although some clubs may find that deal problematic, it doesn’t seem to be affecting his value.

It’s unlikely that the Raptors will retain Brown since they are about to undergo a rebuild. The seasoned player has previously made it clear that he would want to play for a certain squad.

Raptors Provide Jakob Poeltl with a Health Update ILLUSTRATED TORONTO RAPTORS NEWS, ANALYSIS, AND MORE BY AARON ROSE SPORTS REVISED at 3:23 PM on January 22, 2024 It seems like Jakob Poeltl will soon be back. As he recovers from an ankle injury, the 7-foot centre has started working out on the court, according to Toronto Raptors coach Darko Rajaković on Monday. “He’s making good progress,” Rajaković said. As per the plan, he is making progress with the loads and his permitted activities. Although he can’t participate in tonight’s game, he’s making good progress, so we expect to see him on the pitch very soon. Poeltl hasn’t played since he tripped over Pascal Siakam’s foot in a game against the Golden State Warriors on January 7. After the game, he continued to play despite the injury, but it forced him to miss the rest of the season. After playing on Monday, Toronto will have a few days off before playing the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday. Though Poeltl’s precise return date is still unknown, it seems like he could return later this week. Since Poeltl’s injury, the Raptors have been the second-worst rebounding team in the NBA, so they definitely need him back in the starting lineup. Additionally, the team’s defensive rating is the sixth worst it has been since January 8, giving up 121.3 points per 100 possessions. When Poeltl gets back, he’ll send Jontay Porter to the bench, where he should continue to see action for the Raptors, and take his place in the starting lineup. Porter seems like a player the Raptors could employ as a big man off the bench going forward based on his performance over the last ten games.
