Los Angeles (AP) — On Friday night, the Brooklyn Nets defeated the Los Angeles Lakers 130–112 behind 33 points from Cam Thomas. The team overcame a four-game losing run and won for the fourth time in their previous eighteen games by dominating the second half.

The Los Angeles Lakers are one of the clubs in the NBA to watch out for since they have a history of being aggressive as the deadline draws closer. The trade event is still ongoing.

With the NBA trade deadline on February 8 less than three weeks away, the second wave of the trade season began on January 15.

In the recent trade saga, the Toronto Raptors echoed the first big moves by trading OG Anunoby to the Knicks and Pascal Siakam to the Pacers. Following the trade chapters, Hawks guard Dejounte Murray is targeted as the next big trade target to come off the board.

According to The Athletic’s Jovan Buha, who reports on the Lakers,

“The Murray buzz is only increasing — and to noisy levels. The Lakers and Hawks have discussed potential frameworks of a deal, including a version late last week that centered on Russell, Hood-Schifino, the 2029 first-round pick, and additional draft compensation, according to multiple team and league sources. Talks have since stalled, but are expected to pick back up closer to the deadline.”

The Murray trade rumor first came up in late December, and talks seem to have progressed since then, the trade was linked to the Lakers with a potential deal.

As per updates by The Athletic’s Jovan Buha, the trade talk between the Lakers and Hawks on a deal for Murray has “stalled,” but added are expected to resume closer to the deadline.

Buha added the Lakers and Hawks “have discussed potential frameworks of a deal” for Murray. In the past week, they had negotiations that centered around D’Angelo Russell, Jalen Hood-Schifino, a 2029 first-round pick, and additional draft compensation.
